Workspaces can be created in various ways.
In the Item view, click the ‘+’ button in the top toolbar and select ‘Add workspace…’
Use the keyboard shortcut Shift+W
In Manage workspaces view, click on the ‘Add workspace’ button
Finally, in the sidebar, under your active workspaces, click on the 'Add workspace' button
Any of the above actions open the 'Create new workspace' modal that lets you add new workspaces to your team:
Note that in Sirap.io, all team members share all workspaces and items, so everyone on your team will see the new workspace.
All workspaces must have a name, so enter that in the text field. Common names for workspaces include ‘ToDos’, ‘Bugs’, ‘To be discussed’, and so on. However, it can truly be anything that makes sense to you and your team.
You can also add an emoji and a color accent to your workspace. These visual indicators help you quickly spot a specific workspace throughout the app.
Finally, 'Workspace details' were added to this example.
This is free text shown in the Item list view next to a workspace. It's a handy place to keep general information related to the workspace:
Shift-D
to toggle, or check or uncheck the checkbox entitled 'Show workspace details in items list`.Note that while the title, color, emoji icon, and details of each workspace are the same for all team members, the order in which workspaces appear in the Sirap.io app is individual to each user.
This means you can rearrange the workspaces according to your preferences without affecting the order for everyone else.
You can easily reorganize workspaces:
Grab the workspace title in the item list and use drag and drop to reorganize (tip: this is easier if you first contract all workspaces)
Open the sidebar. If it's not already open, double click on the menu bar (or use keyboard shortcut: S
). From here, click and drag workspaces to change their order.
Finally, in the Manage workspaces view (keyboard shortcut: 5
), you can also click and drag workspaces to change their order. For non-mouse devices with limited or no touch input (such as some tablets and mobile phones), you can also click the 'Change workspace order' button. Then use the '^' and 'v' buttons to move workspaces around.
In Sirap.io, all workspaces are visible to all team members. However, it’s not necessary for every team member to have all workspaces visible at all times on the item list. Depending on your team’s structure and your preferred work style, it might be more convenient to only see a few workspaces at a time.
To hide or show workspaces, simply open the sidebar (see the section above). Under ‘Workspaces’, you’ll find checkboxes in front of each workspace. To toggle their visibility, check or uncheck the corresponding checkboxes.
Just as the order of workspaces is individual to each user, their visibility is also unique. Hiding a workspace only hides it for you, not for the rest of the team.
Editing a workspace is easy: hover over its title (in the item list or sidebar), and click the appearing ‘Workspace settings icon’. Alternatively, from the Manage workspaces view, click on the workspace title to make the necessary edits.
Remember that all team users will be able to see the changes you make to an existing workspace.
