When you first log in to a new Sirap.io team, your profile looks a little generic. Let's make it a bit more fun!
First, click on your avatar picture (or use keyboard shortcut: Shift-P
). This opens up your profile page. This is what other team members will see when they look at your profile.
To make changes, click 'Edit'.
Populate the input fields as much or as little as you want. The only two required elements are Username and Display name. They can't be empty and need to follow some basic rules. Once you see the tick icon on the right-hand side of the input field, you know you're ready.
Remember to save the information you added by hitting 'Save profile'.
Now, let's get visual.
Bring up your profile again (click on your avatar in Home, use keyboard shortcut Shift-P
, or click on your profile picture on the bottom left of the screen and select 'Profile' in the pop-up menu).
Click 'Edit'.
Let's upload a new profile picture. To do this, you can either click 'Upload file', and select a file from your computer, or you can just drag and drop an image on top of the existing avatar image.
The crop dialog appears, which lets you select what part of the image you want to use as your square avatar picture. Use your mouse to move the square around, and zoom with either your mouse's scroll wheel or the buttons on the bottom left-hand side of the modal.
Once you're done, click 'Apply'.
Well done, your profile is updated. This is now how you will appear throughout the app to other members of your team.
The app often uses your unique profile picture as a visual clue. For instance, this is how the item list displays an item when you are assigned to it.
That's it — almost!
A final touch is in order, don't you think? Let's go back to Home if you are not there already. Click the 'Home' icon in the menu bar (or hit keyboard shortcut: 1
)
You should now see your updated profile picture.
Click on the emoji sticker face button just under your profile picture. This brings up a picker that lets you pick an emoji to represent your current mood.
I'm feeling terrific today, so I'll go with the 'ok hand' emoji:
In Sirap.io, this emoji is called a 'Status indicator'. In select places throughout the app, other team members will see this symbol next to your profile picture.
It's a sometimes subtle, sometimes not-so-subtle way of letting your team members know how you're going!
Note that setting a status indicator is completely optional. You can change it how often or as seldom as you like. It can also be removed easily by clicking on it again in the Home view, and selecting 'Clear your status'.
That's it, all done! 💪
