Sirap.io is highly configurable and has several options and settings that you should familiarize yourself with as they help make the user experience a lot more tailored to you.
Sirap can be customized in several ways:
The Home view can be customized to suit your needs, click on the 'Customize home view' button in the Home view's toolbar.
This brings up a host of widgets to enable and disable and many other options:
The Item preview page can also be highly customized. To start, click on the 'Settings' icon on the top right-hand side in the item preview toolbar.
This shows a menu that allows you to make a large number of choices as to how you would like items to be previewed and what properties to show and not show.
From here, you can also control the typography of the text of both items, descriptions, and comments.
Click on the 'Settings and options...' button in the item list toolbar to show the settings modal. You can also use the keyboard shortcut ~
.
The settings modal contain a lot of userful options:
Theme: allows you to switch between a number of color themes
Enable dark mode: all themes have dedicated dark modes that make Sirap.io great to use at night, too (or, if you just like dark mode all the time, no judgement!)
App orientation: allows you to switch between splitting the screen horizontally (landscape) and vertically (portrait). While landscape tends to work best for most typical desktop displays, portrait is useful when your screen is taller than it's wide, such as tablets.
Show items list left or right: this allows you instead show the item list to the right of the preview panel (default is left)
Sidebar: enables and disables the sidebar, and also allows you to automatically open the sidebar on hover
Typography: control the size and line height of the text used in Sirap.io
Expand items to two lines: expands each items to occupy two lines (useful on small-screen displays)
Show closed items: show and hide closed items (default is to hide closed items)
Show workspace details: show and hide workspace details.
Simplify status (todoify): this allows you to simplify the way status is displayed in the item list and when enabled provides an experience that is similar to a todo list, where you can click on the simplified status symbol to 'tick off' the item.
Show status icons in color: switch between showing status icons in full color or in monochrome gray
Time: allows you to switch between 12 and 24 hour display of time thorughout the app.
Date: allows you to switch between ISO (the best option for dates, obviously, using YYYY-MM-DD) and your locale (which depends on where you are)
Enable keyboard shortcuts: as the name suggests, this option enables and disables keyboard shortcuts in the app (the editor shortcuts are always enabled)
Modals blur background: turn on or off a visual effect when showing modals
Reload app from server: allows you to force-reload the app from the server. This is similar to refreshing the page using the browser, but can be useful in certain situation (like in kiosk mode, or in other casts when the browser buttons aren't available -- looking at you, standalone iOS home screen app!)
Switch to mobile app: you can manually switch to the mobile app.
