Shared among your team and appearing the same to everyone, a workspace in Sirap.io serves as the highest-level organization for items. These are the top-level ‘buckets’ into which you place items. While the workspace an item belongs to can change over time and multiple times, an item can only belong to one project at a time.
However, the way you set up and organize your team’s workspaces is entirely up to you and your team, considering what works best for your specific needs.
Different teams use workspaces in diverse ways, depending on their domain, industry, and working style. Typically, workspaces have names like ‘Reported bugs’, ‘New ideas’, ‘Offsite planning’, or ‘ToDos this week’, but it’s ultimately up to each individual team to decide on (and evolve over time) the structure that suits them best.
Workspaces can be created in several ways:
In the Items view, click the ‘+’ button in the top toolbar and select ‘Add workspace…’
Use the keyboard shortcut Shift+W
In the Manage workspace view, click on the ‘Add workspace’ button
Note that while the color, icon, and title of each workspace appear the same to all team members, the order in which workspaces appear in the Sirap.io app is individual. Therefore, you can rearrange the workspaces according to your preferences without affecting the order for all team members.
In the Sidebar, you can also reorganize the workspaces and toggle their visibility in the Items view. This can be useful in situations where your team has multiple workspaces, but you’re only working on some of them. Similar to the order of workspaces, their visibility is also individual. If you choose to hide a workspace, it’s only hidden for you, not for the rest of the team.
