Pinning an item allows you to easily track it. Pinned items are visually marked in the item list view and are also collected in the "Pinned" category and the "Pinned" widget on the home view.
Subscribing to an item means you will receive notifications about changes to that item, even if you are not the author or assignee (who are automatically subscribed). Commenting on an item also automatically subscribes you to it.
Pinning and subscribing are individual actions and do not affect other team members.
Clicking the menu in the upper right corner of the item preview toolbar lets you customize the preview's appearance.
